It's no secret that I have absolute love for this series, so when I found the chance to spread even more word about it, I immediately jumped to take it! Today, I have the authors to share with us the music that they listen to while writing the books. They have good taste, I tell you ;D
-------
Becca and I write to music, so there are certain songs that pair well with the books. Here are some songs that we either listened to while writing or remind us of the series.
“Two Fingers” by Jake Bugg
I drink to remember, I smoke to forget
Some things to be proud of some stuff to regret
Run down some dark alleys in my own head
Something is changing, changing, changing
There’s a sadness and heartache to this song, which reminds us a lot of Loren Hale’s journey throughout the series.
“Wildest Moments” by Jessie Ware
You and I, blurred lines,
We come together every time
Too wrongs, no rights,
We lose ourselves at night
Baby in our wildest moments,
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest,
Baby in our wildest moments,
We could be the worst of all
This song really captures Lily and Lo’s destructive relationship. At times, they are the worst people for each other and then other times they can be the only thing keeping one another sane.
“Trembling Hands” by The Temper Trap
So throw me a line
Somebody out there help me
I'm on my own
I'm on my own
Throw me a line
Afraid that I have come here
To win you again
With trembling hands
We usually write to anything by the Temper Trap, but “Trembling Hands” is the one that reflects the helplessness both Lily and Lo feel when it comes to their addictions.
“Toxic” by Melanie Martinez (Cover of Britney Spears)
There’s no escape
I can’t wait
I need a hit
Baby, give me it
You’re dangerous
I’m lovin’ it
Too high
Can’t come down
Losing my head
Spinning ‘round and ‘round
Do you feel me now
Everyone probably knows this song, but Melanie Martinez’s version (from The Voice) is subdued and has this broken feeling to it. Definitely a song that could even be a theme song for the entire series.
Special shout out to Avicii’s “Addicted to You” – because it’s, ya know, the title of our book ;)

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex...staying sober is only half the battle.
No. More. Sex.
Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.
Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.
They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.
And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.
No. More. Us.If you're still not convinced, you can read my reviews for Addicted to You and Ricochet.
About the authors:
Becca Ritchie claims she's from Mystic Falls, but really, she lives in Atlanta where humidity is her greatest foe. She loves comic books, blue nail polish and Jonathan Taylor Thomas circa 1995. She frequents Twitter to dish about too many TV shows, and when she's not blogging, she writes novels and has teamed up with her twin sister to collaborate on a New Adult series.
Krista Ritchie has a clone...or someone who looks exactly like her. If she's not writing books with her twin sister, she's pouring over entertainment news and ingesting copious amounts of pop culture. She likes tennis, that thing called the TV, and beating Becca (her clone) on Sega Genesis. She created YA Book Exchange to combat her book buying addiction and started Nawanda Files, a YA Book Blog that features books into movies news, to share her love for all things bookish. Oh, and she does something called science. Whatever that is.

I think it's awesome that you are helping spread the word about this series. I can't believe not more people are reading it. I am completely obsessed with Addicted!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great series! Will there be more books in this series?

Yes, after Addicted for Now is "Thrive" (which is a companion book) and then the third (and final, I believe) book "Addicted After All." Both are expected out in 2014.
