Life of a Blogger {2}

Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi at Novel Heartbeat where bloggers chatter about random, non-bookish topics. This week's topic is the craziest thing I've ever done!

I've done plenty crazy things in my twenty years that I actually can't remember all of them, but I do know that most of them were fandom-related - anime, Jpop, and Kpop, specifically. I'm well past that phase now but I sure am fond of the memories. Anyway, here's the craziest that I can think of.

Back in 2010, Kpop (if you don't know what Kpop is, google it!) concerts here in the Philippines were pretty rare, so when Super Junior announced that they were coming for their Super Show 2 tour, I was more than ecstatic. They weren't actually my favorite group - that award goes to the gods that are TVXQ - but I knew I couldn't miss it. So I joined in the craziness, buying penlights and ballers and pins and constantly listening to their songs. Normal fangirl stuff... until the ticketing event.

This ticketing event was, as you guessed, the first day when tickets would be available. VIP tickets were in-demand, so it was crazy. I got the cheapest ticket because I wasn't planning to spend, like, $200 for a group that wasn't my favorite - and, also, ten thousand pesos for a concert like are you kidding me - but I went to the ticketing event because I wanted to witness the mayhem and also to support my friends who were about to go to war for those front-row tickets.

So, there I was, walking around the place, when the organizers started giving out posters. Concert posters. Me, being a poster person, freaked out because I wasn't going to get one because I wasn't buying a ticket that day! My friends, the real hardcore fans, understandably couldn't give me their posters, so I sulked around the mall with another friend when the heavens opened. Seriously. I felt like it did. Because I spotted one of those poster stand thingies that were scattered around the mall. You know, the one that often holds movie posters and stuff, and that day, it held the Super Show 2 concert posters.

Here comes the craziest thing I've ever done. Together with two friends, I pried at least three posters out of those stands. Yes. I did. One of them was the lookout while another friend and I worked on stealing the freaking posters, and then we literally ran away from the scene of the crime and went to look for another stand.

Oh, the things I did for fandom. And here's what the posters in question looked like, by the way:

Do you guys have stories of your own crime? Or just any crazy thing you've done? Share them with me in the comments! ;D

    Sooooo stoked to know that you also like them! HAHA. It was heaven indeed! I am also a poster person that is why no posters of a concert should be missed! WOW I don't know why this information brought the stupid grin on my face maybe because it's rare to find bookish people whol also love k-pop like we do.

    Thanks for sharing, Khazy! :)

  2. I have to confess I don't even know who they are, but I totally can relate! Back in my teen years, I was obsessed with boy-bands, so whenever I got the chance, I'd go to concerts, or wait for them outside radio stations or stuff like that. I can tell you that those memories will always be in my heart. :)

  3. Ahahhaaa that's so awesome! I've stolen some banners from a concert before, but it was after so I don't think anyone really cared (and there were others doing it too). That's funny, though! I haven't heard any Kpop, but I'll have to check it out. I love Jpop!

  4. Great story!!! I don't think I would have ever been able to do that, no matter how much of a fan I am of certain groups.

I love reading your comments so post away! <3

Also, I appreciate the thought but this is now an award- and tag-free zone :D
