Waiting on Wednesday {21}

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, where bloggers post about much-awaited releases! Eeep, I haven't participated for quite a while! I've been so lazy to schedule posts and stuff...

Title: The Theory of Everything
Author: Kari Luna
Release Date: July 11th 2013
Publisher: Philomel
Sophie Sophia is obsessed with music from the late eighties. She also has an eccentric physicist father who sometimes vanishes for days and sees things other people don’t see. But when he disappears for good and Sophie’s mom moves them from Brooklyn, New York, to Havencrest, Illinois, for a fresh start, things take a turn for the weird. Sophie starts seeing things, like marching band pandas, just like her dad.
Guided by Walt, her shaman panda, and her new (human) friend named Finny, Sophie is determined to find her father and figure out her visions, once and for all. So she travels back to where it began—New York City and NYU’s physics department. As she discovers more about her dad’s research on M-theory and her father himself, Sophie opens her eyes to the world’s infinite possibilities—and her heart to love.
The Theory of Everything is being compared to Libba Bray's Going Bovine, and while I didn't get to finish that book when I first picked it up (I had trouble concentrating on it, idk), I did enjoy what I've read, so I'm really looking forward to this one! P.S. Adorable cover! P.P.S. Shaman panda, dudes. That is all.

Title: Prep School Confidential (Prep School Confidential #1)
Author: Kara Taylor
Release Date: July 30th 2013
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin
Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side—that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne couldn't care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school.
When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read—even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.
Gossip Girl-ish murder mystery? Sign me up, please! I really hope this will be available in bookstores here because I wanna hold that pretty cover in my hands ♥
